Initiatives
The foundation is dedicated to serving the northern Nevada community in the battle against childhood obesity. To reach as many school aged children as possible, the foundation has developed entertaining and educational presentations to be shared at local elementary and middle schools. One of the surgeons of the Board of Directors does the presentations and talks to the children about the long-term effects of poor dietary and exercise choices in their life. The goal is to teach children the importance of making healthy choices as early in life as possible.
If you are interested in having one of the members of the Obesity Prevention Foundation Board attend your school to do a presentation, please call (775) 789-9198. Please be advised that due to scheduling, presentations typically need to be booked at least 2-3 months in advance.
